BEVERLY HILLS: MTV has expanded its slate of scripted programming for 2011, with additions such as Skins and Teen Wolf.

Production on 12 hour-long episodes of Teen Wolf will start in October. The series is a co-production with MGM. From the creator of Criminal Minds, Jeff Davis; executive producer of The 4400, Ren Echevarria; and executive producer of Prison Break, Marty Adelstein, Teen Wolf is an update of the cult film from the 1980s. It stars Tyler Posey (Brothers and Sisters) as the newly bitten werewolf, Crystal Reed as the mysterious new girl in town and Holland Roden as the popular girl with a secret.

MTV’s North American adaptation of the hit British drama Skins heads into production later this month, with 10 one-hour episodes slated. The series is created by Stormdog Films’ Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain. Skins is co-produced by eOne Entertainment and Company Pictures.
