SILVER SPRING: This fall, Discovery Channel will present the latest landmark TV event from renowned natural scientist Sir David Attenborough, First Life.

First Life will blend state of the art CGI with real footage to document how nature’s first animals evolved and ultimately gave rise to the modern animals of today. First Life looks at a variety of animals, to understand how they laid the foundation for today.

"Sir David Attenborough is the gold standard in natural history television," said Clark Bunting, the president and general manager of Discovery Channel. "He is behind some of television’s most watched, critically acclaimed programs. Discovery is honored to continue this rich heritage and tradition."

"From the moment they evolved to the moment they took their first steps on land, we can see the first movements, the first eyes, the first skeletons and the very first predators," added Attenborough. "We can also understand how those first animals laid the foundations for modern life."

The project is produced for Discovery Channel by Atlantic Productions. Anthony Geffen is executive producer. Susan Winslow is executive producer for Discovery Channel.
