MTV, Kappa Team for Chinese Dance Competition Series

BEIJING/HONG KONG, August 17: MTV Networks China will launch MTV Dance To Kill, a new street dance
competition series targeted at Chinese youth and sponsored by Italian sports
apparel retailer Kappa.

Hosted by Taiwanese hip-hop star Jeffrey Kung, the weekly series
will be telecast to 142 million households through MTV China's 24-hour channel
and co-producer Chongqing Satellite TV beginning September 15 and September 16,
respectively. The
dance competition consists of two audition specials, 18 quarterfinals, one
semifinal and a finale, totaling 22 episodes airing on both networks. The
winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the U.S. to meet pop recording
artist Justin Timberlake in person.

MTV
Networks China will host auditions from August to October in six major cities
across China—Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan and
Harbin—to search for 60 competitors to compete against each other in a
quest to make it to the final three and vie for first place at the finals in
Beijing in January 2008. There will be celebrity judges, who will judge dancers
based on their moves and overall performance. Both live audiences and home
viewers will determine which dancer will move on to the finale and which will
be eliminated, via SMS and online voting at www.mtvchina.com. During the
quarterfinals and the semifinals, all contestants will perform free-style
street dance and master the dance sequences set by professional choreographers.

Li Yifei,
the executive VP and managing director of MTV Networks China, commented: “As a
type of a sports dance, street dance is becoming increasingly popular in China
at all levels. Street dance has emerged as something that young people love
because its style is energetic, improvisational and encourages originality and
interactions with others. MTV has connected closely with youth, and are
committed to delving into the world of young people in order to gain insights
about their interests. We are thrilled to provide a fun and entertaining
platform for our audience to experience healthy competition and express the way
they feel through dance and movement.”
