MTV Awards Shows to Air Internationally

LONDON: A number of broadcasters from around the world have signed up for MTV Awards shows, which will air across Latin America, Europe, Asia and emerging markets, among other territories.

In Latin America, Canal 12 in El Salvador is set to broadcast the 2012 Movie Awards and the Video Music Awards (VMAs). CNMG is bringing the VMAs and the BET Awards to Trinidad & Tobago.

Ghana’s Viasat picked up a range of MTV Awards programming, including the Movie Awards, Europe Music Awards and VMAs. Imedi TV in George signed up for the VMAs and Europe Music Awards. Albania’s Digitalb took those same shows, but the 2011 programs.

In Europe, TV2 in Denmark is following up its successful airing of the 2011 EMAs with this year’s awards show. In China, BESTV licensed a slew of awards programming, including the 2011 MTV Music Awards, European Music Awards, 2011 BET Awards and 2011 HipHop Awards as part of a far-reaching HD and non-HD MTV programming package.
