MIPTV Outlines Focus on 4K/Ultra HD

PARIS: MIPTV has lined up a number of keynotes, sessions and panels dedicated to exploring the latest advancements in 4K/Ultra HD.

On Monday, April 13, a session entitled Japan’s Broadcasters Line Up for 4K will feature Shinichi Nagano, the deputy head of programming at NHK, and Koichi Morimoto, the general manager of the channel operations division at Sky Perfect JSAT. This presentation will be followed up by a 4K/UHD Press Briefing, which will include Andrew Cohen, BBC Factual's head of science; Mark Hedgecoe, the deputy head of science and executive producer at BBC Science; and Joe Nakata, senior producer of visual entertainment projects at Sony.

The keynote, 4K: High-End Production for TV, has lined up as confirmed speakers the BBC's Cohen and Hedgecoe. The session 4K: Solving the Problems of Producers will feature David Klafkowski, joint managing director for The Farm Group, and Tom Arnold, the head of technical operations at Evolutions Bristol.

The following day, Tuesday, April 14, has slated two sessions. The first, Music Producers Investing in 4K’s Future Demand, has confirmed Maria Medina, the founder of Medina Media Producciones; Isabel Sanchez, head of creative content and AV production at the Montreux Jazz Festival; and Bolke Burnaby Lautier, the manager of operations at United4All. The second, Factual Producers Ready for 4K Broadcasting, will feature Olivier Chiabado, producer/presenter on The Explorers Network at TF1; Torsten Hoffman, founder of the 4K Content Hub in Germany; and Pere Vila Fumes, the director of technology, innovation and information systems at RTVE.
