MIPCube Lab Opens Call for Entries

PARIS: MIPCube Lab is now accepting entries for the 2014 competition, open to tech companies from around the world who want the chance to pitch to an international jury during MIPTV.

Submissions are due in by February 15. Five participants will be selected to compete in a public pitch, which will take place on April 7.

In 2012, the Swiss developers Jilion won MIPCube Lab’s most promising disruptive TV start-up and Vivendi’s coup de Coeur prizes. In December 2013, Jilion was acquired by Dailymotion.

“MIPCube Lab was the perfect launch pad for Jilion,” said Jilion co-founder Mehdi Jacques Aminian. “It allowed us to get validation, meet potential investors and gain international visibility within the TV and online video ecosystem.”

“There are some truly extraordinary startups focusing on the entertainment business,” commented Laurine Garaude, the director of Reed MIDEM’s television division. “MIPCube Lab provides an international platform for these companies to showcase their expertise to investors and the industry. In 2012 we had a Swiss winner and last year Israeli company Stevie won, which underlines the international appeal of the competition.”
