mio TV Adds More Channels

SINGAPORE: mio TV has launched two new Asian channels for Jingxuan Pack subscribers, Celestial Movies and Jia Le Channel.

Jia Le, a new 24-hour Asian entertainment channel with content in Hokkien dialect and Mandarin from top producers in Taiwan and Singapore, is available beginning today. Celestial Movies, also launching today, will feature blockbusters such as Bruce Lee’s My Brother and Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen.

mio TV customers will have access to Celestial Movies On–Demand (Channel 307), a catch-up service. Jia Le offers a similar service on Channel 288. Jingxuan Pack subscribers will also have access the Mei Ah Movies Channel, which screens Asian blockbusters soon after their cinematic debut.

“We are introducing these channels based on feedback from our customers and are committed to bringing them a strong selection of the latest top-quality programs from the region,” said Goh Seow Eng, the chief digital home at SingTel.

“Celestial Movies will bring viewers exclusive first-run blockbuster movies and all-time favorites from Hong Kong, Japan and Korea,” Eng added. “Jia Le Channel, which we announced last week, is our first self-packaged Asian channel featuring high-quality dramas and variety shows from Taiwan in their original Hokkien dialect.”
