MGM Takes on Two MTV Series for International Distribution

LOS ANGELES, April 5: MGM International Television
Distribution (MGM TV) has taken on the worldwide rights to two series from MTV
in the U.S., Kaya and Living
Lahaina, both of which will be available to
buyers at MIPTV.

Kaya is MTV’s first
scripted show in five years. The half-hour drama series stars Danielle Savre as
Kaya Harris, a musically-gifted young woman who, along with her band, becomes
an overnight sensation. Living Lahaina is an original reality series set in Maui, Hawaii, featuring a
close-knit group of friends all working as surf instructors at The Royal
Hawaiian Surf Academy in Lahaina, Maui.

In addition, MGM TV has also acquired MTV’s Maui Fever, a half-hour reality series from the producers of Laguna
Beach.

These series join MGM’s existing MIPTV slate, which includes
The L Word, Las Vegas, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate: Continuum, Stargate: The Ark of Truth and the movies Two Weeks and The Flying Scotsman.
