MGM Germany and Celestial Pictures Renew Pay-TV Deal

HONG KONG, September 21:
MGM Channel Germany has renewed its agreement with Celestial Pictures for the
pay-TV rights to 15 titles from Celestial’s Shaw Brothers library.

The titles are for MGM
Channel Germany’s Kung Fu Classics nights, which air in Germany and Austria, as
well as in the German-speaking areas of Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg
and Alto Adige.

"Celestial Pictures
is delighted to expand its relationship with the MGM Channel in Germany,"
said William Pfeiffer, the CEO of Celestial Pictures. "The success of Kung
Fu Classics 2005 demonstrates the continued strength of the appeal of
Celestial’s Shaw Brothers library and we are pleased that so many viewers are
continuing to tune in to pay their biggest respects to the Shaw Brothers
martial arts films.”

“After the successful
airings of the Kung Fu Classics stunts in the past year, it was natural to
present the German audience with further treasures from the Shaw Brothers
library,” says Marcus Ammon, the managing director of the MGM Channel in
Germany. “We are looking forward to co-presenting this exciting programming
block for another year together with Celestial Pictures.”

This deal builds upon the
success of MGM Channel’s Kung Fu Classics nights featuring Shaw Brothers martial-arts
films that was launched in 2005. Key titles to be aired include martial-arts
classics such as Clans of Intrigue, The Five Venoms, and The Water Margin.
