MGM Continues to Build Up TV Business

LOS ANGELES: A number of new appointments have been made within MGM’s TV department, including Vinicio Espinosa being named VP for Latin American television distribution.

Espinosa joins MGM as the VP for Latin American television distribution. Espinosa will oversee the TV efforts in Latin America for MGM, working to expand and strengthen the studio’s presence across the region. He will also serve existing buyers in pan-regional pay TV, basic cable and free TV. Espinosa reports to Chris Ottinger, MGM’s recently appointed president of international television distribution and acquisitions.

As senior VP of domestic television distribution, Vicky Gregorian will lead sales for MGM’s syndicated TV production, including film packages and third-party acquisitions sales. She will also oversee the national sales for the studio’s digital networks This TV and Me TV nationwide, while also supervising regional sales managers in Los Angeles, New York and Dallas.

Susan Hummel has been promoted to senior VP of U.S. basic cable and Canadian television. Hummel is responsible for all Canadian TV distribution, in addition to the sale of MGM TV properties to U.S. basic cable operators.

Damien Marin is to serve as the senior VP for pay TV and digital media. This is an expansion of his current remit, which includes on-demand and digital-media distribution, to now include oversight for the studio’s domestic pay-TV sales. Marin will also support Hummel in U.S. basic cable sales.

Gregorian, Hummel and Marin report to John Bryan, MGM’s president of domestic television distribution.

“The talent, expertise and tenacity of these four executives will not only bolster MGM Television, but allow us to be increasingly dynamic in an industry which continues to change and evolve,” said Bryan.
