Merlin to Return to Syfy

NEW YORK: A fourth season of Merlin is headed to Syfy for a 2012 premiere via a deal with FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME).

With its third season, Merlin averaged 1.93 million total viewers. This marks a gain of 12 percent on the series’ second season.

The fourth run, which will premiere on Syfy in 2012, again heads back to Camelot, which is now on the brink of a Golden Age. Morgana is a dangerous outcast, and Merlin must use all his power to ensure that Arthur fulfills his destiny as the once and future kind. John Hurt continues to voice the Great Dragon for the fourth installment. New to the fourth season is Nathaniel Parker (Stardust, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries) as Agravaine. Other guest stars confirmed for season four Gemma Jones (You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Bridget Jones) as Cailleach, and Phil Davis (Sherlock, Alien 3) as The Gleeman.
