Matt Lucas to Host International Emmy Awards Gala

NEW YORK: The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has lined up the British comedian Matt Lucas, whose credits include TV shows such as Little Britain and movies including Bridesmaids, as host for this year's International Emmy Awards Gala, to be held November 24 at the Hilton Hotel in New York.

Lucas has worked in television both as an actor and writer. This includes Shooting Stars, Come Fly with Me and the hit Little Britain. In film, he has been part of Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland and the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass, as well as Bridesmaids. He is also a stage actor, having appeared in Les Miserables. He also set up John Stanely Productions, making shows such as The Matt Lucas Awards and the comedy Pompidou.

“Matt Lucas is one of the most talented comedic performers and writers of his generation and we’re delighted to have him headlining the International Emmy Awards this year as our host,” said Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
