Maker Studios’ Ynon Kreiz to Keynote at MIPTV

PARIS: Ynon Kreiz, executive chairman of Maker Studios, is set to deliver a keynote address at MIPTV, with the next-generation media company he leads also signing up as a founding partner for the inaugural MIP Digital Fronts.

The MIP Digital Fronts take place April 9 to 10, serving as a platform for the screening and trade in original online video programming and web series. Maker Studios joins YouTube as a founding partner of the new event. In addition, Kreiz will deliver an address on April 8 as part of the Media Mastermind keynote series. The former Endemol CEO took the reins of Maker Studios, the leading producer and distributor of online video for the Millennial generation, in May of last year.

“As a global media company with content creators in 100 plus countries and more than 60 percent of our viewership coming from outside the U.S., we are honored to be a founding partner of the MIP Digital Fronts,” said Kreiz. “MIPTV has created an important international platform for online video and the new MIP Digital Fronts offer a forum for Maker creators to showcase their talent on a global scale and connect with the digital entertainment community.”

Laurine Garaude, director of Reed MIDEM’s television division, added: “Following on from YouTube, Maker’s decision to join the new MIP Digital Fronts as a founding partner confirms the international demand for a European-based screenings showcase to accelerate the marketplace for original online video."
