Leno Heading to Prime Time

NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES,
December 9: Jay Leno, the current host of The
Tonight Show, has signed a new
agreement with NBC to fill a 10 p.m. time slot each weeknight in a format
similar to his late-night show.

The new show,
which kicks off next fall, is expected to be set in
Leno's longtime studio in Burbank, California. Leno is expected to retain many
of the popular elements of The Tonight
Show
, including his monologue and bits like "Headlines" and
"Jay Walking."

Late Night's
Conan O'Brien, who will take over for Leno, will move
to a new studio on the NBC Universal lot in Universal City, California, in May.
