KI.KA Heads to MIPCOM on Ratings High

CANNES, October 11: As MIPCOM Junior kicked off in Cannes
today, the German channel KI.KA is celebrating it highest ratings since its
1997 launch, with a market share of 19.8 percent of kids 3 to 13.

The latest figures are up on the channel’s 17.2-percent
market share a year ago, according to Sebastian Debertin, the head of fiction,
acquisition and co-production at the channel, owned by pubcasters ARD and ZDF.

KI.KA was the market leader in preschool with an average of
32.7 percent, as well as in the 6 to 9 set with 24.9 percent. KI.KA also
reigned among girls 3 to 13, scoring a 21.9-percent share.

Top performers include Vicky the Viking, which obtained a 77.5-percent share among kids 3 to
5.

The ratings news comes on the back of the channel scoring a
slew of awards for its content.
