TORONTO: Kevin Crull joins CTVglobemedia as COO on January 1, 2011, and is due to become president of CTV once Bell’s acquisition of the Canadian broadcaster is complete.

“Kevin Crull has a great reputation as a seasoned executive leader and innovator in Canadian communications and is well regarded in the industry for his deep understanding of both digital and conventional media,” said Ivan Fecan, president and CEO of CTVglobemedia and CEO of CTV, to whom Crull will initially report. “By building industry-leading distribution and delivering world-class content to Canadians when, where and how they want it, he has built Bell’s TV, broadband and online portal businesses into digital media leaders. I am very pleased to bring Kevin’s proven strategic and operational expertise to CTVglobemedia.”

Once Bell’s acquisition of CTV is complete (expected in mid 2011), Fecan will retire, with Crull becoming president of the Canadian broadcaster. “I’m thrilled to be joining the world-class leadership team at CTVglobemedia," he said. "We have a game-changing opportunity ahead to deliver media properties across multiple platforms as technology and viewer appetites evolve. Combining Bell’s network and service assets with Canada’s leading media company represents a unique opportunity to lead the rapidly evolving media landscape to make entertainment more engaging, more accessible and more relevant for all customers.”

Crull is currently president of Bell Residential Services, which is responsible for Bell Internet, Bell Satellite TV, Bell Fibe TV, the Sympatico online portal, and Bell Home Phone. Since joining Bell five years ago, Crull has led Bell TV to its position as the fastest growing and largest digital TV provider in Canada, expanding from just 20 HD channels in 2005 to more than 100 today.
