LONDON: JimJam is to launch its first +1 channel, joining the Sky Italia lineup next month, featuring the same preschool programming from the main Italian feed but staggered by an hour.

Chello Zone has made two new acquisitions for JimJam as well. From Medianetwork Communication comes Stone Age, which will start airing on the Italian JimJam feed in October. The series is a modern-day comedy set in the prehistoric age. Sweet Lambs from 10 Francs will launch on JimJam’s pan-European and Italian feeds starting next month. The animated series features a big bad wolf who is desperately trying to capture sheep, which narrowly and hilariously escape his clutches.

Kathy Fairbairn, JimJam’s director of programming, said: “JimJam is hugely popular in Italy and a +1 channel will help ensure children don’t miss their favourite shows. Stone Age and Sweet Lambs are wonderful series that we believe are perfect for JimJam’s core audience. We are confident both shows will prove popular with our young fans and their accompanying viewers. Both are new to most of our markets and encapsulate JimJam’s ethos of captivating entertainment.”
