Jennifer Lopez Talent Show Scores First Round of Pickups

LOS ANGELES: ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen, the new Latin-focused talent show from Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Jamie King, has been picked up by Univision for the U.S. market, along with deals in Mexico and Colombia.

The show is currently being filmed in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and is set to air simultaneously in 21 countries throughout the Americas. Univision has signed on to air one-hour weekly episodes of the show in Spanish. For the Colombian market, XIX and Endemol secured Caracol TV as a broadcaster. In Mexico, XIX and Endemol have partnered with Televisa to air the show on its flagship network Canal de las Estrellas.

The Chosen will be a spectacular showcase of Latin music and performance arts,” said Simon Fuller of XIX Entertainment. “We are bringing together all the most powerful brands and networks throughout the Americas to broadcast ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen in a unique collaboration where each country will program the show simultaneously. It will be a powerful statement confirming the growing importance of Latin culture.”
