ITV to Air Version of Cowell’s NBC Talent Show

LONDON, July 26: ITV is set to air its own version of America’s
Got Talent, the Simon Cowell format that
has been a hit for NBC this summer.

The British series, from Simon Cowell’s production company
SYCO TV, will see contestants displaying their talents for a panel of judges
that will include Cowell—who is not on the NBC version—and one of
the U.S. version’s judges, Piers Morgan.

“America’s Got Talent
has cut through the clutter of the American summer to be the most talked about
show on network TV,” said Paul Jackson, the director of entertainment and
comedy at ITV. “It is great that the partnership between ITV and Simon Cowell
means that U.K. audiences will be able to enjoy it soon.”
