ITV Studios Signs Format Deals with Germany’s VOX

COLOGNE: VOX has commissioned ITV Studios’ Granada Germany to produce the first international entertainment format of Secret Diner, along with additional installments of Come Dine with Me.

Secret Diner watches as amateur cooks open their homes as public restaurants, where an undercover food critic will come and decide which cook wins the top prize. Granada Germany has been commissioned to produce 10 50-minute episodes, with production starting this month.

Jan Kromschroeder, the managing director at Granada Germany, said: “Through our experience of producing nearly 1,000 episodes of Come Dine with Me for VOX, we have access to the very best writers, producers and directors in non-scripted television. Secret Diner is the perfect partner to Come Dine with Me and we’re delighted to be working with VOX on another great show. Production is happening this month and Uwe Schlindwein will be the series creative director.”

Remy Blumenfeld, the director of formats at ITV Studios, added: “We’re putting relationships on the front burner in the most dangerous room of the house, as would be restaurateurs go head-to-head in this hugely entertaining reality format. I’m confident Secret Diner will connect with audiences everywhere.”

VOX has also commissioned further local installments of Come Dine with Me. Granada Germany will begin production on a sixth season of the show later this month.
