International TV Pioneer Sammy Gang Passes Away

NEW YORK, November 14:
Sammy Gang, who spent four decades in TV sales, including several years at
Hearst Entertainment, has died. He was 89.

Gang started his sales
career in 1953 at National Telefilm Associates in Mexico, Cuba and Puerto Rico.
He went on to RKO and then ITC International, before relocating to Mexico. Gang
later set up his own venture, Global Television Enterprise, and in 1972 joined
King Features Entertainment, which became Hearst Entertainment in 1982. He was
there until his retirement in 1993.

He is survived by his wife
Therese, sons Stephen and Gregory, daughter Lorraine and four grandchildren.
