International Digital Emmy Nominees Announced

NEW YORK: The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has unveiled the nominees, hailing from seven countries, that will compete for this year's International Digital Emmy Awards.

There are 12 nominees in three categories—Digital Program: Children & Young People; Digital Program: Fiction; and Digital Program: Non-Fiction. In the category for Digital Program: Children & Young People, the nominees are Oh My English! from Red Communications (Malaysia); Reverse the Odds from Maverick Television and Chunk for Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK (U.K.); TheSimpleClub from Mediakraft Networks (Germany); and Incluir Brincando (Include by Playing) from TV Cultura (Fundação Padre Anchieta) in partnership with Sesame Workshop (Brazil).

Nominated for Digital Program: Non-Fiction are Last Hijack Interactive from Submarine Channel, Razor Film, ZDF and IKON (Netherlands); Werewolf: Who’s the Liar? Village 05 from Fuji Television Network (Japan); Neymar Jr's Life Outside the Fields from Losbragas Productions and NRSports (Brazil); and Don't Stop the Music from Fresh One, Rckt, Channel 4 and Oxfam (U.K.).

Up for the award in the category of Digital Program: Fiction are Geração Brasil: Filma-E (Now Generation) from Globo TV (Brazil); Dina Foxx: Tödlicher Kontakt (Dina Foxx: Deadly Contact) from ZDF, UFA and Exozet (Germany); Are You On the Blacklist? from Secret Location, Sony Pictures Television and NBC Entertainment Digital (Canada); and Hanbun no Sekai (Half & Half) from Avex Digital (Japan).

The winners will be presented at the tenth International Digital Emmy Awards ceremony, sponsored by the Bell Fund of Canada, during MIPTV’s opening night festivities on Monday, April 13, in Cannes, at the Grand Hyatt Martinez Hotel.
