International Co-Pro SOS: Save Our Skins Gets North American Premiere

NEW YORK/TORONTO: The U.K.-Canada co-pro SOS: Save Our Skins is set to premiere in North America next month, airing on FEARnet in the U.S. and on Bite TV in Canada.

The American cabler will broadcast 13 seven-minute episodes on its Twisted Comedy block, airing midnight to 2 a.m. from April 1 to 6. Blue Ant Media’s Bite TV will broadcast four half-hour episodes back-to-back on April 5 starting at 9 p.m.

The sci-fi comedy adventure chronicles two British geeks who wake up in New York only to find that the entire human race has vanished. The production debuted as a 90-minute film at the Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival last month. British actor Steve Coogan and Henry Normal produced through their Baby Cow Productions outfit, along with Canada’s Duopoly, Farmhouse Productions and Smiley Guy Studios.

“We discovered SOS: Save Our Skins in a pitch session at the Just for Laughs Conference and were determined to find a way to finance it,” said Catherine Tait, exec producer. “Co-productions are challenging, but in the case of SOS, the talent and final results were entirely worth the effort!”

SOS: Save Our Skins is part road movie, part sci-fi fantasy, part buddy movie, and even has a twisted love story at its heart, even if one of the lovers is a mass-murderer,” added director and producer Kent Sobey.
