International Academy Adds Abbe Raven to Exec Committee

NEW YORK: Abbe Raven, chairman of A+E Networks, has become an executive committee member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Since 2005, Raven has been a director on the Academy's board. She begins her new post as part of the executive committee on January 1. She will be joining Fred Cohen, chairman; Simon Sutton, secretary; Blair Westlake, treasurer; Larry Gershman, vice chairman and chairman of the Emmy committee; Rainer Siek, nominating committee chairman; and Kevin Beggs, co-chairman of the Special Awards committee; among other members.

Raven became the chairman of A+E Networks earlier this year. Prior to that she was the company's president and CEO.

"We're delighted to have Abbe Raven join our executive committee," said Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy. "She brings great knowledge and experience to the table and will provide valuable guidance for the Academy."
