Impossible Pictures Names Development Chief

LONDON: Aidan Hansell has been named head of development at Impossible Pictures, where he will work to expand the company’s specialist-factual and factual-entertainment output.

In his new post at the British indie best known for Walking with Dinosaurs, Hansell will also develop program ideas with Impossible Pictures’ subsidiaries 360Production, Impossible Kids and Manchester-based graphics specialists Firestep.

Prior to this, he was the senior development producer at Wall to Wall where he developed formats, including the BAFTA-nominated series The Young Ones for BBC Two, Turn Back Time: The High Street for BBC One, the forthcoming Arts Troubleshooter and a new prime-time consumer magazine series for BBC One.

Hansell also previously worked on the Channel 4 reality game show Wanted, and produced and edited the first two seasons of Big Brother, The Match for Sky and Comic Relief Does Fame Academy.
