Icon Films to Produce Natural World Doc for BBC Two

BRISTOL, November 16: BBC
Two has commissioned Icon Films to produce Tiger Kill as part of the pubcaster’s Natural World series, for broadcast in early 2008.

Tiger Kill explores the trials and tribulations of capturing
a tiger killing on film, by using the attempts of two top natural history
cameramen as an example. In the 50-minute documentary, wildlife cameraman Simon
King and Indian tiger expert Alphonse Roy team up to successfully film a tiger
at the peak of its power.

“Icon Films has brought
together two experts to achieve a feat only once before captured on film,” said
Harry Marshall, who served as producer for Icon Films. “Simon King, one of the
world’s leading experts on tigers and their behavior, had never been to India
and had never seen a wild tiger. We paired him with Indian wildlife filmmaker
and tiger expert, Alphonse Roy to make a truly historic film.”
