Icon Animation Boosted by Sales of Third-Party Kids Titles

BARCELONA, February 27: Spain’s Icon Animation has secured a
number of sales with local broadcasters in the region for its third-party kids’
programming, including titles such as the Clifford The Big Red Dog, The Smurfs and
Dora the Explorer.

TV3, the Catalan public broadcaster, has snapped up the
rights for Skyland (26×26), The
Smurfs
(90×26), FireQuest (26×26), Pablo The Little Red Fox (52×5) and Loui (78×7). In a separate deal, the free-TV channel Canal Sur picked up
Nickelodeon's Dora The Explorer
(96×26) and Millimages' 64 Zoo Lane
(52×11), as well as FireQuest
(26×26) and The Way Things Work
(26×13).

Following its acquisition of an initial 50 half-hours of Clifford
The Big Red Dog
and Clifford’s
Puppy Days
last year, RTVE has also
recently picked up an additional 40 half-hours of Clifford The Big
Red Dog.
Icon Animation handled both of these of sales on
behalf of producer Scholastic Media and distributor TV Loonland.
