Hot Docs Announces Delegation Participants

TORONTO: Hot Docs will welcome a record eight official delegations at this year’s edition: Abu Dhabi, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, the Nordic region, the U.K. and U.S.

The delegations consist of producers and broadcasters working in social, cultural and political documentary genres. These delegates will have the opportunity to partcipate in a variety of networking opportunities, market events and conference sessions.

The delegations will also be featured participants during this year’s International Co-Production Day, a day-long series of presentations, targeted one-on-one meetings and social events aimed at facilitating international co-productions. International Co-Production Day takes place on May 3. The delegations will also be available to network with fellow delegates throughout the festival at specially scheduled parties and receptions and as accredited participants in Hot Docs’ co-financing event, the Toronto Documentary Forum, May 5 and 6.

Abu Dhabi’s official delegation is led by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission. France’s official delegation is led by the French Trade Commission and the French Image cluster Iconoval. Germany’s official delegation is led by AG DOK. Italy’s official delegation is led by the Italian Trade Commission and Doc/It. Malaysia’s official delegation is led by FINAS and Blue In Green Productions. The Nordic region’s official delegation is led by Filmkontakt Nord. The U.K.’s official delegation is led by Sheffield Doc/Fest. The U.S.’s official delegation is led by IFP, NY-WIFT and Shooting People.

Hot Docs will take place April 30 to May 10.
