SYDNEY/LONDON/TORONTO/LOS ANGELES: Hopscotch/Entertainment One (eOne) and Summit Entertainment have agreed to a three-year output agreement that covers Australia and New Zealand.

Hopscotch/eOne is expected to release six to eight Summit films annual in the region under this new agreement. Earlier this year, Hopscotch/eOne found success in Australia and New Zealand with the box-office release of Source Code.

“eOne has been a trusted and steadfast output partner for us over the past several years in both Canada and the U.K. and we’re proud to have seen them flourish,” said David Garrett, the president of Summit International. “Australia/New Zealand is an important territory for our films and we’ve had the great pleasure of working with Troy and the dynamic Hopscotch team in recent years. We are now delighted to be working with Hopscotch as part of the eOne family.”

“We’re enthused and motivated by the trust that our esteemed partners have in our teams worldwide. As we continue to grow our business into key territories, we’re able to offer our partners new opportunities with the same dedication to the films we release,” added Patrice Theroux, the president of filmed entertainment. “We couldn’t ask for a better scenario—expanding into Australia and quickly adding Summit films to our slate.”
