here! Wraps Production on New Original Film

LOS ANGELES, January 12:
The gay and lesbian-targeted premium network here! has wrapped production on
the new original film Shelter, the
first in a series of independent scripted projects to be produced by the
network.

Shelter, the debut film from emerging filmmaker Jonah
Markowitz, features Brad Rowe, from Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss, and Tina Holmes from Six Feet Under and Vanished. Shelter centers on a young man named Zach who gives up his
dream of art school in order to provide for his aging father and young nephew
Cody. When he becomes close to his best friend’s brother Shaun and their
budding friendship turns into much more, it sets off a chain of events that
forces Zach to make a difficult decision where he must choose between putting
others first or fighting for what he wants for himself.

“here! is thrilled to be working
with Jonah Markowitz on his debut project,” noted here!’s VP of original programming, Meredith
Kadlec. “As a talented and visionary director, Jonah shares in here!’s commitment to bringing authentic stories to
the LGBT community.”

here! Films, the
theatrical distribution and worldwide sales division of here! Networks, has
secured worldwide distribution rights to the project.
