Hemisphere Media Renews Agreement with Miss Universe Organization

Hemisphere Media Group has extended its multiyear agreement with the Miss Universe Organization for the franchise and broadcast rights to Miss Universe Puerto Rico and the broadcast rights to the global Miss Universe competition.

WAPA TV, Puerto Rico’s leading broadcast network, will remain the exclusive home of Miss Universe Puerto Rico, while WAPA America will carry the event nationally in the United States. WAPA TV will air the upcoming 2026 Miss Universe Puerto Rico telecast.

“Miss Universe is one of the world’s most iconic and inspiring franchises, and this agreement represents a significant step in Hemisphere’s strategy to expand our footprint in global entertainment,” said Alan Sokol, president and CEO of Hemisphere Media Group. “By uniting the power of the Miss Universe brand with the reach of WAPA TV, WAPA America and beyond with amplification through all brands within the WAPA Media umbrella, we’re creating new opportunities to celebrate culture, empower talent and connect audiences across platforms. Puerto Rico’s extraordinary legacy at Miss Universe makes this partnership especially meaningful as we continue to elevate Hispanic voices and stories on a global stage.”
