Hannah Barnes Exits Five

LONDON: Hannah Barnes is stepping down from her role as the director of programs at Five’s digital channels FIVER and FIVE USA.

"I’ve had a tremendous time at Five but feel I’ve achieved everything I was brought into do, namely transform the digital channels and drive their share upwards," she said. "The launch of FIVE USA next month feels like the perfect time to move onto my next challenge.”

Barnes joined the British broadcaster in February 2007 after serving as the managing editor of Sky One, Two and Three. She has led the relaunch of Five’s digital channels and under her oversight, FIVER and FIVE USA increased their audience share by 28 percent last year.

"Hannah has brought great energy, creativity and strategic thinking to her role and managed a team which has worked wonders in making these channels standout in the digital landscape," said Five’s new chair and chief executive, Dawn Airey.
