Hallmark Channel Africa Undergoes Rebrand

LONDON: Universal Networks International has embarked on harmonizing the branding of its global TV channels portfolio, beginning in Africa with Hallmark Channel becoming Universal Channel next month.

Hallmark Channel Africa, reaching 2,7 million subscribers, becomes Universal Channel on March 24. It will continue to be carried on MultiChoice. "This is a natural evolution of the Hallmark Channel in Africa," said François Roux, the managing director for EMEA at Universal Networks International. "Building on Universal’s entertainment heritage we will continue showing quality content in an engaging TV environment, now emphasized by a modern, colorful channel look and feel. We’re delighted to bring our viewers an even greater programming lineup, with the very latest seasons from a host of award winning programs such as Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Monk.”
