Grammys Hit Six-Year Ratings High

NEW YORK: The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, which aired on CBS on Sunday, attracted 25.8 million viewers, according to preliminary Nielsen figures, marking the show’s biggest TV audience in six years.

The event logged a year-on-year increase in viewers of more than a third. In Canada, Global’s broadcast of the Grammys won the night with 2.7 million viewers, an increase of 63 percent over last year’s show. Leading into the broadcast, The Grammy Awards: ET Canada Live drew in more than 900,000 viewers with its red-carpet coverage.
