FX to Air Minisodes of Rescue Me

LOS ANGELES, June 2: Sony
Pictures Television (SPT) and FX will deliver ten minisodes of Rescue Me, which feature new content, to air commercial-free
on the U.S. cable network on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. beginning June 24.

Each five-minute minisode
will feature Denis Leary and the rest of the cast in weekly standalone
episodes. The shows will be available the day following the FX telecast on
Crackle.com and via SPT’s The Minisode Network, as well as YouTube, MySpace,
AOL Video, Hulu, Tidal TV, Joost and exclusively on mobile at Sprint TV.

"Fans of Rescue Me have come to expect their favorite show to run
during the summer, but because of the delay in production due to the writers’
strike, that wasn't a possibility," said John Landgraf, the president and
general manager of FX Networks. "These minisodes are hysterical and will
provide fans the opportunity to enjoy the characters they have come to love.
The minisodes are designed to keep the series top-of-mind in preparation for
next season's 22 consecutive episodes, which will be an unprecedented
single-season run of a scripted series on basic cable."

"Denis, Peter, Jim
Serpico and their team were enthusiastic about keeping the show salient, and
this is a smart way to give viewers their much needed Rescue Me fix this summer," said Zack Van Amburg, the
co-president of programming and production for Sony Pictures Television.
"It's an added bonus that we'll be able to leverage the studio's existing
digital network to deliver the minisodes to a vast online audience," added
the fellow co-president, Jamie Erlicht.
