FremantleMedia Inks Global Broadcast Deals for Music Series

LONDON, March 20:
FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has licensed its 12×1-hour music entertainment
series Live From Abbey Road, to
18 broadcasters around the world.

Produced by Channel 4 in
the U.K., the music series has been picked up by ABC (terrestrial) and XYZ (pay
TV) in Australia; Rialto Channel in New Zealand; ATV in Hong Kong; MICO in
Japan; STAR TV in Asia; Media Prima in Malaysia; UBC in Thailand and Mediacorp
TV 12 in Singapore. The series was launched at last year’s MIPCOM.

Live From Abbey Road, which was first acquired by the Sundance Channel in
the U.S., is currently
broadcasting on Fox channels in Italy; Sony in Latin America; Lumiere in
Cyprus; Ceska in the Czech Republic; YLE in Finland; Kanal 5 in Sweden; 365
Media in Iceland and Geo TV in Pakistan.

Filmed in HD at the iconic
north London Abbey Road studios, famed for its association with the Beatles,
each one-hour episode of Live from Abbey Road features a host of both new and established
international A-list artists. The series offers insight into the musician’s
world and the process of music making as they rehearse, discuss their work, and
build towards the final exclusive performance. Performers on Live From Abbey
Road
include this year’s winner of
four Grammy awards, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Grammy nominees such as Corinne
Bailey Rae, John Mayer, The Killers, Snow Patrol and David Gilmour.
