FremantleMedia Adds Magnum Formats

LONDON: Formats from the catalogue of U.K. indie Magnum Media will now be represented globally by FremantleMedia, in a deal financed through the company’s Talent Fund.

Magnum Media’s portfolio includes entertainment formats and talent-led entertainment shows such as Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night, which is currently airing on Channel 4 in the U.K. Under the new partnership arrangement, FremantleMedia will use its global production and distribution network to bring Magnum’s programs to audiences worldwide. In the U.S., Magnum Media will co-produce with FremantleMedia’s North American production arm.

Rob Clark, the senior executive VP of entertainment and production for worldwide entertainment at FremantleMedia, said: “Magnum is a vibrant and dynamic company with great ideas and a special knack for creating great programmes that will resonate with different audiences internationally. Their innovative formats will be a perfect fit for FremantleMedia’s worldwide production network and we look forward to helping transform their shows into global hits.”

Andy Auerbach, the joint managing director of Magnum Media, added: "When it comes to putting on big entertainment shows, FremantleMedia are the best in the business and we’re delighted to be working with such a talented set of producers around the world."

The deal was funded through FremantleMedia’s Talent Fund, a global investment initiative aimed at creating partnerships with creative talent worldwide. The Fund has already been utilised for partnerships with Bea Ballard’s 10 Star Entertainment, Trevor Eve’s Projector and Rob Brydon’s Arbie in the U.K. and Ashton Kutcher’s Katalyst in the U.S.
