FOX Buys FishBowl Scripts

LOS ANGELES, October 14: FishBowl Worldwide Media has sold scripts to FOX for Learn Just Enough to Get Laid and Beyond Repair.

FOX has ordered two comedy scripts from Fishbowl, including Learn Just Enough to Get Laid, a series based on the book by Tyler DeAngelo and Brad Emmett. Jim and Steve Armogida, the writers of Courting Alex and Grounded for Life, will serve as writers and executive producers. Beyond Repair, also picked up by FOX, is a comedy about a family-run business with a dysfunctional relationship at the center. It is written by Sameer Asad Gardezi of Modern Family and Mr. Sunshine. FishBowl execs Vin Di Bona, Bruce Gersh and Susan Levison will serve as executive producers on all projects.

NBC is also developing The Champions, a project packaged by FishBowl after landing the rights to the book Everything You Know is Pong by Roger Bennett and Eli Horowitz. The comedy focuses on a competitive ping pong club, with Sony Pictures Television attached.

“Our scripted development has just taken off and it’s been gratifying to see our work so well received. It is all the result of working with extremely creative talent, both in front of and behind the camera, and being open to a broad range of ideas,” said Susan Levison, the executive VP of creative affairs at FishBowl. “Unscripted series continue to be very important to us as well and we are already working closely with a number of networks on multiple projects.”
