Food Network Asia Celebrates First Year

SINGAPORE: Food Network Asia is celebrating its successful first year in the Asian market with the debut of the hit U.S. series The Next Food Network Star tomorrow.

The channel has already picked up carriage deals for Singapore on StarHub, the Philippines on Cignal Digital TV, Malaysia on Astro and Taiwan on DishHD.

Food Network Asia has added to its lineup The Next Food Network Star, in its sixth season the U.S. The hour-long reality series sees chefs compete for their own Food Network show.

“We are beyond thrilled with the level of success Food Network Asia has achieved in just its first year,” said Hud Woodle, the acting general manager of Food Network Asia. “Between the success we have had with our originally commissioned local programs, launches in four significant territories, and the caliber of broadcast partners we have collected, Food Network Asia has proven to be a model to follow for the international roll out of the Food Network brand."
