FME Appoints Regional Sales VP

LONDON: Maximilian Bolenius is to serve as the VP of sales for German-speaking Europe and Eastern Europe at FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME), joining from a role as director of sales at ZDF Enterprises.

Reporting to Mel Acock, the London-based CEO, Bolenius will be tasked with maximizing all business potential across the distribution of television programming and format sales from the FME portfolio. He will be working with potential and current TV clients, while developing and growing new relationships within the industry. Key properties in the FME library include Idols, Got Talent, The Adventures of Merlin and The IT Crowd, as well as the Jamie Oliver, Martha Stewart and Travel Channel catalogues and Original Productions programming. His appointment takes effect at the end of the month.

Alcock commented, “We are thrilled to have Maximilian on board as we continue to expand in the region. FME is incredibly strong in these territories, and his expertise will undoubtedly help bolster our current relationships as well as to develop new ones. In 2009 alone, FremantleMedia aired 90 programs in 16 territories within the region accounting for more than 2,300 hours of television. FME’s tape sales have proven just as successful with over 350 titles sold over the last few years. With Maximilian’s appointment, we look forward to continuing that growth.”

Bolenius added, “I’m both delighted and excited to join FME and look forward to further growing their strong business in these important markets. I admire FME and their tremendously impressive portfolio of programs and formats; it is the ideal company in which to start my new chapter.”
