Five to Air Brand, Ross Doc

LONDON, November 3: This
week, British broadcaster Five will air an hour-long documentary about the
latest scandal to rock the BBC: the controversial phone call made to actor
Andrew Sachs by Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross on Radio 2.

During the Russell Brand Show on BBC Radio 2, he
and Ross left a crude message on Sachs' answering machine. In it, Ross
suggested that Brand had had sex with Sachs' granddaughter, burlesque performer
Georgina
Baillie. After a flood of complaints, the BBC issued an apology to Sachs, best
known for playing Manuel on Fawlty Towers,
and suspended Ross. Brand resigned over the affair. The BBC Trust has initiated
an inquiry into how the pre-recorded segment made it to air.

Five
has
commissioned Zig Zag Productions to produce Russell
& Ross: What the F*** Was All That About?
for broadcast on November 5 at 10 p.m. The special features
an exclusive interview with 23-year-old Baillie, as well as previously unseen
footage of her in action with her four-piece burlesque dance group, Satanic
Sluts Extreme. The program will also
feature contributions from some of Brand's former colleagues and a host of
others.
