Five Brings Rough Guide to TV

LONDON, November 15: Five
has commissioned Lion Television to produce a 15-part travel series titled The
Rough Guide To…, based on the
travel books of the same name.

The show will be presented
by Julia Bradbury from BBC One’s Watchdog and journalist Toby Amies. The series will examine high-end luxury
and off-the-beaten track destinations for all ages and budgets. Every week the
program will also explore the top five destinations in a number of holiday categories,
such as most responsible holiday destination.

“We are thrilled that the world renowned and respected Rough Guide is coming to
Five, we look forward to giving our viewers the ultimate travel experience,”
said Five’s commissioning editor of factual entertainment and features, Robi
Dutta.

Nick Catliff, the managing
director of Lion Television, said, “The return of Rough Guide brings independent travel back to the television
in an authoritative, inspirational and engaging way for people of all ages.
Like the guides themselves the series will be witty, bold and will pull no
punches.”
