First Run Features to Rep NFB Docs

MONTREAL: The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) has sold the U.S. distribution rights for Pink Ribbons, Inc. and Surviving Progress to First Run Features.

First Run Features will release Pink Ribbons, Inc. and Surviving Progress in 2012. Pink Ribbons, Inc., in competition for Best Feature-Length Documentary at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), reveals the truth behind breast cancer fundraising. It is produced by the NFB’s Ravida Din.

Surviving Progress, in the running for Best Green Screen Documentary at IDFA, was inspired by Ronald Wright’s bestseller A Short History of Progress, with Martin Scorsese executive producing. It challenges the view that technological and scientific advancement benefits humanity.
