First-Ever MIPTV Médaille d’Honneur Recipients Announced

PARIS: In commemorating its 50th anniversary, MIPTV is presenting its first-ever Médaille d’Honneur awards, selecting six executives to recognize for their contributions to the international television business.

The honorees are: Jan Mojto, the CEO of Beta Film; Armando Nuñez, the president and CEO of CBS Global Distribution Group; Armando Nuñez Sr., a renowned former executive at ITC/PolyGram and Twentieth Century Fox; Masao Takiyama, the executive officer and senior VP for television networks at Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan (SPEJ); Nicolas de Tavernost, the chairman of the board of the French Groupe M6; and Sophie Turner Laing, the managing director of content at BSkyB.

The awards will be presented by Paul Zilk, the CEO of Reed MIDEM, during a gala dinner on April 10 at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes.

“With the inaugural MIPTV 2013 Médaille d’Honneur, we’re delighted to honor six great industry personalities, highly recognized in their respective countries and by the international community, who have through their talent, leadership and passion, played a significant role in the global television industry,” said Laurine Garaude, the director of Reed MIDEM’s television division.
