FID Offers Up Diverse Slate for MIPCOM

LONDON, October 5: Comedy, factual, reality and light
entertainment programming all feature prominently on Fremantle International
Distribution’s large slate of offerings for MIPCOM.

On the comedy front, a new offering is All Aussie
Adventures
, in which Australian comedian
Glenn Robbins parodies the outback-adventure television genre in Australia and
hosts the show in which his character, Russell Coight, travels through the bush
and meets all sorts of characters from the outback life. From Working Dog in
Australia, the show originally aired on Network Ten.

Also available is BBC Two’s sketch show That Mitchell
& Webb Look
and talkbackTHAMES’ new
comedy, The Complete Guide To Parenting. From the U.S. is the 8×30-minute Daisy Does America, from Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette’s
Coquette Productions. Rounding out the slate are Man Stroke Woman, The IT Crowd and Comedy Inc.

On the music end, FID is showcasing Live From Abbey Road, a 12×1-hour series commemorating the 75th
anniversary of London’s legendary Abbey Road recording studios. Artists on the
bill to date include Paul Simon, Richard Ashcroft, Massive Attack, LeAnn Rimes,
Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews Band.

Also on the factual entertainment slate are Bravo’s hit
reality show Project Runway, the daytime
series The Martha Stewart Show,
ABC’s reality hit American Inventor,
a second season of talkbackTHAMES’ Honey I Ruined the House, and a new season of the American version of Property
Ladder
.

FID will also be talking up the 13×30-minute tentatively
titled Jamie At Home, in which the
celebrity chef cooks at home with simple, accessible ingredients. Oliver
contributes two other productions to the FID slate: Jamie's Chefs:
Cutting the Apron Strings
, a follow-up Jamie’s
Kitchen
, and the 75-minute special Jamie’s
Return to School Dinners
. Other culinary
focused-shows from FID include the 7×30-minute Bills Food and the 6×30-minute Fish from The LifeStyle Channel Australia.

On the heels of the success of Prehistoric Park, FID is showcasing two new productions with wildlife
programming personality Nigel Marven: Nigel Marven’s Rhino Adventure and Nigel Marven’s Ugly Animals.
