Ex-ITV Chief Joins Endemol Board

LONDON, September 8:
Charles Allen, the former chief executive of ITV, has been appointed as a
senior advisor to Goldman Sachs Capital Partners, and is set to take a seat on
the board at Endemol.

Goldman aligned with
Mediaset and John de Mol’s Cyrte Investments last year to acquire a majority stake in the
Dutch-based format giant.

Ynon Kreiz, the chief
executive of Endemol, is quoted as saying of Allen’s appointment: "It's
great to have him on the board. He is one of the more savvy people in the
industry."

Allen is expected to
advise Goldman Sachs’ private-equity arm on a variety of media issues, reports
indicate. This marks Allen’s return to the TV industry after stepping down from
ITV in August 2006, amid discontent about the company’s share price.

The news comes amid
reports that Goldman’s partner in Endemol, Mediaset, is eyeing an acquisition
of a stake in ITV.
