Eurocinema to Air Film on German Electronica

LOS ANGELES: The U.S. VOD channel Eurocinema, a network dedicated to bringing European films to North American audiences, is to air the award-winning German film Berlin Calling this October.

From Beta Cinema, Berlin Calling looks at the thriving electronic music scene in the German capital. The film is centered on electro composer Martin (Paul Kalkbrenner), named DJ Ickarus, who is touring the dance clubs of the world with his manager and girlfriend Mathilde (Rita Lengyel). They are gearing up to release their biggest album to date, when DJ Ickarus gets high on drugs and winds up in a Berlin psychiatric clinic. He is placed under the care of Dr. Petra Paul (Corrine Harfouch).

“The buzz and interest surrounding the film Berlin Calling and its accompanying hit soundtrack around the globe to film and music audiences has been amazing,” commented Sebastien Perioche, the founder and CEO of Eurocinema. “We’re delighted to debut this exciting film to Eurocinema’s 24 million viewers across North America, offering up an in-depth look at Berlin’s dynamic electronic music and club scene.”
