SINGAPORE: The ESPN Player, launched in Singapore with SingTel, provides consumers with on-demand access to international world-class sports content online.

The broadband service marks the region’s first online multi-sport service to combine video, scores and community within a single interactive destination. It offers live and library events throughout the year, delivering sports programming available online and providing access to in-game statistics and scoreboards. The service also allows viewers to interact with fans and friends on social networking platforms like Facebook. ESPN Player kicked off its launch on July 1 with a wide variety of live matches, highlights and a library of archived Wimbledon Championship content. This month, ESPN Player will feature Formula One’s British Grand Prix, German Grand Prix and Hungarian Grand Prix. In addition, ESPN Player will showcase The Open Championship and offer additional live coverage from other holes on the course on demand. ESPN Player will further showcase exclusive content such as the friendly match between Manchester United and the Major League Soccer All Stars.

ESPN STAR Sports has also launched two new channel offerings in HD for Southeast Asia and Taiwan, each localized for their respective markets. ESPN HD sport programming will next feature The Open Championship, the US Women’s Open, The One Asia Tour, Major League Baseball and the MotoGP World Championship amongst others.

ESPN Player and ESPN HD will be soon launched in other Asian markets in the coming months.
