ESPN Signs Multimedia Deal for Premier League Matches

STAMFORD: ESPN has sublicensed the multimedia rights to select matches of England’s Barclays Premier League through a three-year deal with Fox Sports International.

Covering the 2010-11 through 2012-13 seasons, the deal includes up to 74 live matches each season on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPN3.com and ESPN Mobile TV. Coverage through ESPN kicks off August 14 at 7:30 a.m. with the opening match of the 2010-11 season. Most coverage will be available in HD.

ESPN also currently airs the Premier League in a number of countries around the world through ESPN in the U.K., ESPN Latin America South, ESPN Brazil, ESPN Caribbean and ESPN STAR Sports in India and across many parts of southern and southeast Asia. ESPN has exclusive rights in the U.K. to mobile highlights for all 380 Barclays Premier League matches, for each of the next three seasons.
