ER Scores Sales for Transformers

LONDON, April 9:
Entertainment Rights (ER) has secured broadcast agreements for its new Transformers
Animated
series, as well as a
70-minute special, to channels in Europe, Latin America and the Asia Pacific.

The program will now be
offered in more than 80 territories, including its latest pickups: Mediaset in
Italy; Turner Broadcasting in Australia, Latin America and India; Jetix in
Israel, the Netherlands and Belgium; Network 10 in Australia; TV3 in New
Zealand; MediaCorp TV12 in Singapore; and TV Globo in Brazil.

The new round of sales for
Transformers Animated follow
deals with European broadcasters like Nickelodeon in the U.K., Gulli in France
and Super RTL in Germany.

ER holds the worldwide
television distribution rights, excluding North America, covering both free and
pay-TV platforms for the series, which had a successful premiere on Cartoon
Network in the U.S.

“The Transformers
Animated
series has had an
incredible response from broadcasters around the globe,” said Chloe van den
Berg, the executive director of international for Entertainment Rights. “With
80 territories secured, the show is set to be become an international hit,
spring-boarding off of the success of last year’s Transformers live-action movie that grossed more than $700
million at the box office worldwide.”
